Schooling Makerspaces: On the Promises and Tensions of Implementing this Much-Touted Innovation in a High School
“the LAB”

“the LAB” was the makerspace I spent years envisioning, funding, designing, and bringing to life in a high school setting. As its founding director, I created a space that empowered students to experiment, build, and discover. This work became the foundation of my dissertation research, allowing me to study the culture of school makerspaces and examine the tensions and potentials that emerge when schools adopt hands-on, student-driven learning environments.
